Omar Camacho

Omar Camacho is the newSTART Resource Coordinator at Midtown Community Court. Omar is stationed at 100 Centre Street, where he works collaboratively with the CASES organization. newSTART is a short-term alternative-to-incarceration program for individuals facing misdemeanor charges, providing additional options for judges when sentencing individuals who would otherwise face short jail sentences. Through the newSTART program, Omar conducts brief screenings and schedules clients to social services groups and community service at Midtown Community Court. Prior, Omar worked 9 years (two as an Americorp intern) with Bronx Community Solutions as an Intake Specialist and later a Compliance Manager.
