Aileen Kim is a social worker with Brooklyn Court-based Intervention and Resource Team (CIRT) at Brooklyn Justice Initiatives. Ms. Kim works with defense attorneys and prosecutors to help individuals living with mental health concerns and who have ongoing criminal defense cases connect to community-based treatment. In her role as a CIRT social worker, she performs mental health assessments, creates individualized treatment plans, and carries a caseload that involves case management and supportive counseling for clients. Prior to joining Brooklyn CIRT, Ms. Kim was a criminal defense social worker at Brooklyn Defender Services. Ms. Kim graduated from Amherst College with a B.A. in Sociology and French. She received her Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University. Ms. Kim is a licensed master social worker.
