Deputy Director of Data Analytics and Applied Research
Tia Pooler is the deputy director of Data Analytics and Applied Research at the Center for Court Innovation. She conducts and oversees data management, data analysis, and on-site research at the Center’s operating projects and initiatives, including Supervised Release – a pretrial alternative to bail program. She is currently leading a mixed-methods evaluation of Brooklyn’s Young Adult Court. Previously, at the Center, she served as the Research and Data Associate for the Midtown Community Court, Harlem Community Justice Center, and Bronx Community Solutions. Recent research projects include a needs-assessment survey of costumed workers in Time Square, an evaluation of the Harlem Parole Reentry Court, and an impact evaluation of the Bronx Mental Health Initiative. Before joining the Center, Tia was based in London, serving as team leader at the British Judicial Appointments Commission, and providing research for the Action for Prisoners’ Families organization. She holds a B.A. in Economics from Boston University, an MSc in Criminal Justice Policy, and an MSc in Social Research Methods, both from the London School of Economics.
