Our Work

Three Center staff in a warm embrace.

We collaborate

Bringing people together is our bread and butter. We build deep interdisciplinary connections with government, courts, nonprofits, community, and people who have direct experience with an issue to make sure that all perspectives are heard and solutions are effective.

"Together, with my legal team and the angels at the Center for Justice Innovation, which provides the clinical care and case management staffing, we developed a comprehensive treatment plan that addressed my housing instability, my unemployment, and of course, my poorly treated mental health."

Our Methodology

We research

Research drives our approach to justice reform. Social scientists across three distinct teams use evidence to inform policy and practice. Research informs programming, programming informs research, and both research and practice inform our efforts to train and assist communities across the U.S. and internationally in adopting tailored reforms.

We build new approaches

In the courtroom, we work with judges, district attorneys, and other stakeholders to build stronger responses to the problems that bring people into court; and in the community, we work side-by-side with residents and local businesses to create a strong, stable vision for the future.
