Eyasu McCall

Eyasu McCall is an experienced leader in operational and strategical planning with a deep expertise in fiscal oversight and management, developed through varied experiences supporting the public and civic sectors.
 
Currently an internal consultant with the UNDP, Eyasu leads the design and implementation of program and portfolio performance management initiatives aimed at strengthening organizational effectiveness. Before UNDP, Eyasu worked for a NYC based consulting firm. As a Principal Consultant, he led the support to clients in government, not-for-profit and philanthropy in operational planning and management, strategy and program design and implementation. Eyasu has also worked in various capacities for the United Nations, from leading the analysis of local labor markets to guide the UN’s allocation of resources to country offices; to guiding the evolution of the UN’s relationship with the African Union from capacity development to a strategic partnership fostering peace and security in the region; and overseeing the fiscal and performance management of peacekeeping missions and reporting on their performance to legislative bodies.

Prior to the UN, Eyasu held leadership roles at government agencies in New York City. As an Assistant Commissioner at the Department of Correction, he managed the agency’s ten-year capital budget, annual operating budget, and operational planning for the City’s municipal jails. At the Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget, he oversaw budget planning and implementation for most of the City’s criminal justice agencies including the Police Department and the District Attorneys’ offices, helping the city to achieve substantial cost savings and reallocate resources for criminal justice reinvestment programs. 

Eyasu holds a BA in International Business from Howard University and an MPA from Georgia State University.
