Bronx HOPE

Bronx HOPE represents an innovative approach to resolve low-level arrests for possession of a controlled substance by diverting eligible participants from the court system at the precinct

Community Service

Bronx Community Solutions creates community improvement projects that address local needs which include painting over graffiti, packing food and care kits, and assisting with community events.

Alternative Sentencing

Providing alternative sentencing options to judges reduces reliance on jail. In the case of Bronx Community Solutions, less than one percent of convicted clients receive jail sentences compared to 16 percent of a comparison group.

Youth Impact

Staff provide opportunities to empower and develop local youth leaders. Youth Impact members are trained in restorative justice practices, attend educational and professional development trainings, and spearhead projects that give back to their community.

    Fact Sheet: Bronx HOPE

    Bronx Heroin Overdose Prevention and Education (HOPE), a new initiative of Bronx Community Solutions, addresses substance use issues with a harm-reduction model at the precinct level. By giving clients the option of accessing community services instead of appearing in court, Bronx HOPE gives Bronx residents the opportunity for rehabilitation and connection to community rather than jail or options that don’t address the underlying issues.

    On a busy street just off Fordham Road in the Bronx sits the most visited library in all of New York City, the Bronx Library Center. Here residents, artists, social service providers, and our own Bronx Community Solutions team gathered to celebrate Juneteenth with art, performance, and a resource fair.
