Spurred by the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and other Black Americans at the hands of police, there are increasing calls for money to be redirected from police budgets. Through community investment, collaboration, and anti-racist policy, these strategies could bring communities a significant step closer to fair and equitable treatment for all, replacing the long-term harm of arrest, prosecution, and incarceration.
