The Fall Season of the New Thinking Podcast
Each episode of New Thinking takes on pressing issues on justice system reform, talking to the people documenting the problems and those working to solve them. The fall season includes Bruce Western, Kim Foxx, and more.
Our fall season began with Bruce Western of Columbia University discussing his new book, Homeward: Life in the Year After Prison. Our latest episode is with Kim Foxx. She talks about the challenges of being Chicago's first female African-American State's Attorney and reflects on the movement for reform as part of our ongoing series on prosecutorial power.
Other recent episodes include NYU sociologist Patrick Sharkey explaining the role of non-profit organizations in the great American crime decline and architect Deanna Van Buren talking about restorative justice.
New Thinking is hosted by Matt Watkins who has a long background as a public radio reporter and producer.
