Debbie Boar serves as the Senior Advisor of Development. In this role, she identifies funding opportunities, works with senior staff to develop and write grant proposals, manages grants, and works on special projects. Prior to this role, she served as the Harlem Community Justice Center’s Deputy Project Director, where she oversaw the project’s prison and jail reentry initiatives, including the Harlem Reentry Court, the Manhattan Reentry Task Force, the Circles of Support, a family reentry program, and the Harlem Justice Corps, a workforce and education program for justice involved young adults. Prior to joining the Center, Ms. Boar served as a criminal defense attorney at the Legal Aid Society of New York City. She received her B.A. from Haverford College and her J.D. from Rutgers-Newark School of Law.
