Applications are now open to join the 2019-2020 Youth Justice Board. The Board will work to improve safety, privacy, and security in the digital lives of young New Yorkers, with a focus on how their digital lives intersect with justice and school system policies. The Board meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 – 6:30 pm, with meetings when school is out of session and an occasional Saturday session.
Applications are open to New York City residents ages 14-18. After submitting a written application, selected youth will be invited to a group interview in early August. Final invitations to join the Board will go out in the last weeks of August, and the program will start on September 10, 2019.
To be considered, you must submit your application and all other materials by June 17, 2019 (priority deadline) or July 15, 2019 (final deadline).
The application for Youth Justice Board includes at least FOUR short essay responses and asks for at least ONE letter of recommendation. Please review the instructions for how to apply carefully.
