Conversations about fairness (and unfairness) within the criminal justice system can be difficult to have. This guide was designed to give voice to justice-involved individuals who participated in a two-city procedural justice study in Newark, New Jersey, and Cleveland, Ohio. The guide outlines strategies for using these perspectives to spark candid conversations about fairness and public trust in justice, including lessons from a test-run of these strategies with community and justice-system stakeholders in Newark.
