From back-to-school giveaways to community resource fairs, this month will bring plenty of opportunities to experience our programs’ exciting work in the community. Watkins Art Walk—Seeds in the Middle

- Seeds in the Middle will be hosting their Watkins Art Walk on Saturday, August 12th, supported by our Brownsville Community Justice Center—complete with free street art tours, fresh food, a pop-up farm stand, and live healthy cooking!

Liberty Collective Learning Garden Mural Unveiling

- Our NeighborhoodStat (NSTAT) resident teams are hosting Local NSTAT events in Brooklyn. Come enjoy the block parties with food, music, resources, and the opportunity for residents to vote on how to invest $30,000 to improve their developments. The events will feature self-care activities for adults while kids play, have fun, and join in on the community decisions. Harlem Housing Resource Fair

- We are so excited to report that we’re bringing back last year’s successful Harlem Housing Resource Fair! This year’s fair will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023, from 12pm to 4pm at the Harlem Community Justice Center/Harlem Art Park (170 E 121st St.). The Harlem Housing Resource Fair is a “one-stop shop” for Harlem residents with housing needs or concerns. We will have providers from HRA, legal services, NYCHA, and community-based organizations there to provide assistance on the spot. We will also have a back-to-school backpack giveaway, food, music, and more!

Brooklyn Community Resource Fair

- To celebrate the 10th anniversary of our Brooklyn Justice Initiatives, join the Brooklyn Community Resource Fair for food, drinks, DJ, T-shirts, face painting, cotton candy, ring toss games, and more! There will be community partner organizations and service providers to connect people to the support they need.

Community Resource Fair – Manhattan Justice Opportunities
